Who we are
Sterling Data is a trading name of Hetherington Projects, registered in England and Wales (company number 17513005), of 45 Albemarle Street, Mayfair, London W1S 4JL. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under registration number C2062607. We are the controller of the personal data described in this notice. This notice covers people who visit our website, send us an enquiry, refer a business to us or contact us about a case or data request. It does not cover data inside the datasets companies license through us. That data is handled under separate written agreements with each company, which remains the controller of its own records.
What personal data we collect
- Enquiry and estimate forms: your name, work email, company or firm, role, and the details you give us about a company, such as sector, headcount and years of records.
- Insolvency case forms: your name, firm, contact details and the case details you provide.
- AI lab requests: your name, organisation, role, work email and the data you’re interested in.
- Referrals: your details and the name and contact details of the business and person you refer, which you confirm you have permission to share.
- Emails and calls: what you tell us when you contact us.
- Technical data: standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, recorded by our hosting provider.

We don’t sell your personal data, and we don’t use it for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf: Netlify (website hosting and form handling), Zapier (moving form submissions between systems) and HubSpot (managing enquiries and contacts). Our fonts are delivered by Google Fonts. We may also share data with our professional advisers, or where the law requires it.
International transfers
Some of our providers are based in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations, including the UK–US data bridge for certified US companies, or on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum with appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry, case and referral details only for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any relationship that follows, and then delete them. Where we enter into an agreement, we keep records for as long as needed to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements.
Your rights
You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to data portability in some cases. To use any of these rights, email info@sterlingdata.ai. We will respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
